Today the Wall Street Journal and many other papers are reporting that shoppers who used credit cards at Target stores on Black Friday through that Sunday may have had their credit card information stolen.  This may have happened at thousands of stores, affecting 40 million shoppers’ credit card information.

The credit card scanning machines at registers may have been hacked, meaning any credit cards scanned could have had the information taken from the magnetic strip.

Details of the investigation may change as it evolves.  If you shopped at a Target over those shopping days, you may want to see which credit card you used to see if you could be at risk.
