The Coupon Mom’s Secrets to Saving Big at Walmart
Get Freebies every week if you know the right strategies

1. Find Unadvertised Deals. One of the most popular deals lists on CouponMom.com is our Walmart Deals List. Our CouponMom.com Walmart Deals List has an average of 1,000 unadvertised deals each week. Let us do the work of finding deals and matching them with coupons for you. If there is a printable coupon available, our list will have a link to the coupon.
2. Learn what “Everyday Low Price” means. Rather than having a weekly advertising circular that features deep discounts on selected items that change every week, Walmart claims that their prices are the lowest in the market every day. If Walmart’s price is not the lowest, they are willing to match the prices of their competitors’ advertised sale items. They back that offer with a formal Price Matching Policy. If you bring in competitors’ store ads to show a lower price for an item you are getting at Walmart for that same week, the cashier will match the competitors’ prices.
3. Use the Coupon Mom Price Matcher Tool. Go To CouponMom.Com and click on the Walmart logo and then click on the “Price Matcher Tool.” Enter one word of the name of an item you need to buy, such as toothpaste, and you’ll get a list of advertised sale prices in our area for toothpaste. Select the lowest price, and add it to your list. Continue your search and add them each to your list. When you are finished, you’ll be able to display your Price Match list and print a copy to take to the store along with the advertising circulars for the stores to show to the cashier. The prices are organized by retailer, so you’ll be able to find the items in each circular easily. Circle the item ahead of time so you’ll be able to get through the checkout process more efficiently.
4. Make a Profit When You Understand the coupon policy. Walmart accepts manufacturer’s coupons, such as coupons from the newspaper, printed online and from magazines. Walmart does not double coupons. If the value of the coupon is higher than the price of the item, Walmart will deduct the full value of the coupon resulting in “overage” which can be applied to other items in the order. They do not accept competitors’ coupons.
5. See it in action. Check out our How to Save at Walmart video on in the How to Coupon section on CouponMom to learn more. Keep in mind that when you shop, you’ll be able to determine if Walmart has a lower price on each item, or if price-matching the competitors’ price is a better deal. Get all of your shopping done at one store while maximizing your savings on the items you need.
