• Save Money by Going Green

Whether or not you choose to participate in “Going Green”, the bottom line is that it actually will save you money in the long run. Despite your thoughts on how this will affect the environment, it will save you money by following a few easy steps.

×         By just setting your thermostat a few degrees lower in the winter and a few degrees higher in the summer you can save hundreds of dollars a year. Also if you remember to completely turn off your heating or cooling system when nobody is at home and unplug appliances when they are not in use you can also save an unbelievable amount of money and energy. A few other easy tips are washing clothes in cold water whenever possible and using a drying rack instead of the dryer. These both will save even more money and energy.

×           You can significantly reduce your water bill by taking shorter showers, installing a low-flow showerhead, planting flowers and other plants that don’t need much water, and by taking your cars to be cleaned at the closest and most inexpensive car wash.

×           Depending on where you live and work you can save on gas and improve your health by walking or biking to work or by carpooling with co-workers. This will save you a significant amount of money on gas and parking costs, not to mention the health benefits that accompany this Green example as well.
